Description
Pros-Aide is a contact adhesive: When an adhesive is a contact this means it adheres to itself, taking along whatever it is attached to. To use a contact adhesive you simply apply even coats of the adhesive to each material you wish to adhere, allow it to dry, and stick them together.
Paint a thin coat of the adhesive over the back (inside) area of the prosthetic and let dry -- it dries clear. Be careful not to let it fold over onto itself, because pros-aide is VERY sticky and will stick to itself. Once you have painted it on the back of the prosthetic, also paint a thin coat over the area where the appliance is to be placed and let it start to dry. Once both are mostly dry, firmly press together.
Removal:
Using Pros-Aide Remover, find a spot where the appliance has started to lift a bit. Work the remover in under the appliance with a brush or swab. Continue applying remover to this area and easing the appliance off. Do not pull too hard or rip off the appliance. Let Pros-Aide Remover do its job; your appliance and performer will be happier for it. Skin can then be cleaned with a good cleanser. Follow with a light moisturizer to calm skin.
This adhesive has been determined to be safe for skin and nasal mucosa.
Available in 0.5 oz. and 6 oz. Made by Pros-Aide®, a division of ADM Tronics.
